D.R. Horton Set to Open 3 New Communities in Statesboro

D.R. Horton, America's largest home builder, is set to open 3 communities in Statesboro starting with their flagship community, Holy Oaks which hosts its grand opening today!
Holy Oaks
This community will feature several floorpans from 1,475 sq ft to 2,361 sq ft ranging in price (at the time of this article) from $325,00 or ($220 per square foot) to
The smallest floorpan is:
The Freeport | 1 Story | 4 Beds | 2 Baths | 1,475 sqft | From $325's | $220 per square foot

The largest floorpan is:
The Robie | 2 Story | 5 Bedrooms | 3 Baths | From $370,990 | 2,361 Sq. Ft. | $157 per Sq. Ft.

The Statesboro Real Estate Market

The above graph shows the median (middle) price per square foot of homes in the same zip code as this community in the last 3 years for single family homes over 4 bedrooms. It shows us that over time, this Statesboro market has become more valuable per square.
Pros and Cons:
The pros of purchasing in this community over new construction could be that the new construction incentives are better than resale. These incentives change quite often so be sure to ask about this when you visit!
Also, unlike a resale, the new construction contract survives closing in the form of your home warranty. Be sure to read about D.R. Horton's here:
The cons of purchasing new construction are:
- Often times, not a lot of trees (at first).
- You may be able to find a resale that has better finishes (upgrades) that you like for a similar price (although, it is not new).
In my opinion, you should aways work with a buyer's agent when thinking about purchasing new construction. See my article here as to why. I would love to connect: send me a text at 843.224.6796 to discuss.
Thank you!
